Educational Qualification For WBCS Exam
Candidates should be eligible for the WBCS exam before they start their application process. As per the official requirements, the candidates must be 20 to 39 years old for various posts. The upper age concession will be 5 years for SC and ST candidates and 3 years for OBC candidates. Candidates should have knowledge of reading, writing, and speaking Bengali. Also, candidates should be citizens of India and should have documents to prove their nationality.
Compulsory Paper

Remaining two are conventional
1. Paper I- Bengali / hindi / nepali / urdu / santali
Letter writing (150 words)/ drafting of report (200 words)/ composition and translation from English.
2. Paper II – English, same pattern as above
Two papers of the optional subject of candidate, of 200 marks each.
